I write this post as an official ban appeal for my prior actions committed on the server. I would like to sincerely apologize for the behavior that led to my permanent ban. I fully understand that the server has a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment. After re-reading the rules, especially the parts about conduct being evaluated on a case-by-case basis, I recognize why my actions were taken seriously. I have taken quite a few months to myself in order to recognize and learn from my mistakes. Although I was given the option to appeal my ban after 3 months, I personally did not feel that was enough time to learn from my mistakes. However, after a longer hiatus, I am optimistic to submit this appeal in hopes that you can forgive my actions.
With that being said, I want to express genuine remorse for the messages I had sent on Discord and to the players on the server. At the time, I did not realize how much these messages could make someone uncomfortable or just in general feel icky; especially with the player demographics on this server. It was inappropriate, disrespectful, and something I regret. The people I messaged did not deserve that, and I’m truly sorry for creating a negative experience for them and anyone in this community that I also could have subsequently affected. I take responsibility for what I did, and I understand that my behavior fell below the standards expected in HelloMiners.
I now understand that the rules extend beyond the server (discord) because this community aims to protect such players as a whole, which is something I respect. I hope that this appeal can be taken into account when reviewing whether a permanent ban is the most appropriate long-term consequence.
I care about this community and the time I’ve spent here. I don’t want my entire history on the server to be washed away and defined by this lapse in judgment. I understand that the rule I broke is a zero-tolerance rule, however I am asking for a one time chance. I am even willing to accept a permanent mute over a permanent ban. I just please ask that my history on this server is not wiped away forever. If given another chance, I will be fully committed to following all rules, both in-game and outside of it, and to being a positive, respectful member of the community.
