People have been having issues with the event calendar. As of a while ago staff no longer needed to approve posts however the plugin wasn’t updated and so was buggy. I’ve updated it now and its working - please refresh yourself on how to add to the calendar in the about post in the events category. You can see it by clicking the “Latest” button in the upper ribbon of the forum navigation pane. Or, you can go here: About the Events category
