Suburbs Elections - January 2026

It’s time for the first Suburbs Elections.

Any player who meets the requirements may nominate themselves on this post to be considered for the mayoral election.

Mayors of Suburbs will be in charge of managing new player houses and stalls, helping players, managing train lines, and hosting events. They will also be apponted as a member of the Community Development Department’s player helper team for the duration of their position as Mayor, due to the role they’ll be undertaking within HelloClan City, if not already a Player Helper.

This position is entirely voluntary, with re-elections being held every 6 months, or when a mayor steps down.

This position is new so it is up to change, but for the most part, here is what you can expect:

Responsibilities:

  • Evict abandoned houses/stalls in accordance to city rules
  • Clear delegation of responsibilities and transfer of power after term completion
  • Coordinate with other members of the Helloclan City staff team to create a fun and welcoming environment for the community

Benefits:

  • Ability to host regular events, such as races, scavenger hunts, etc. with the ability to distribute and decide rewards
  • Ability to host server wide events that will be announced in the events channel of the discord, such as grand openings, holiday parties, and other celebrations
  • Ability to hire players to do work on the city, such as demolitions, designings, and construction jobs.
  • Access to certain event areas around Helloclan
Direct contact with the staff team to create new and exciting projects for Helloclan

The following rules have been instated for the nomination period of all Helloclan City elections:

  • There is no limit to the number of nominees who can participate in a given election (AKA: this is not a 2 party system)
  • Candidates must have been a player on Hellominers for at least 1 year
  • Candidates are allowed to have running mates and support teams as long as there is a definitive candidate
  • Anyone who has been banned within the last 6 months prior to the nomination period may not become candidates
  • Admins are permitted to deny a player from becoming a candidate in a specific election due to poor behavior or previous offenses (they may also allow players who break any of the previous rules in very specific cases)
  • Previous mayors will be automatically enrolled for re-election unless asked not to be

To apply, simply reply to this post with you username and some general information that you would want people to know about you when voting.

The official election after the nomination period of one week (ending 2026-01-27T22:00:00Z) will be held in game (date to be announced). Where players can go to /warp vote to make their voices heard!

Good luck to all our future applicants!

I, lossu am running for mayor of Suburbs

Vote Lossu to see the suburbs grow to new lengths!

I know this is copy and pasted from a previous election but that previous election post added this out of a reaction to the fact we set up some parties for congress to encourage 2 main parties rather than tonnes of little ones. At no point did we say other parties or independents couldn’t run and the person who posted that didn’t read the congress rules properly and now you’ve copied it. So next time, maybe drop the ‘(AKA: this is not a 2 party system)’ as it serves no point and nor did it before. :slightly_smiling_face:

Due to @jaythemanbear (.BearsJay) being on the server for less than a year, @lossu wins the election by default.
