Welcome to the First Edition of me yapping in general about what I’ve been doing or working on recently. I realized recently that I work on quite a few projects at a time, and that I don’t really post much about what I work on. Therefore, I’ve decided I will make a post once-a-month about what I am working on just to say ‘hi, this is what ive been doing recently on HelloMiners as a staff member’ outside of the Discord Server. This will also allow me to go more in-depth about stuff - so as to not spam the dev-updates channel

Tutorial Re-Revamp Progress 1
I’ve been hearing feedback from players since I updated the old tutorial to fit the new scripting language I’ve made for it, and done some modernization. I will summarize the feedback and ideas for this as follows:
- Needs to be more interactive
- Needs to be less all in one place
- Needs to be less of an infodump
As such, I’ve been expanding my framework for it, and will repurpose one of the scripts I’ve made for it into the /help menu revamp I plan to work on later this year. For now, here’s a sneak peek into the testing I’ve been doing during February/March.
Yes, that’s cutscene technology - one of the two things I plan to add to tutorial to make it more user interactive, and less info-dump like.
Skill & Specialism Tracks

Another thing I’ve been working on is a new command and leveling system for skills and specialisms, which will allow you to unlock perks and Slimefun items more progressively, and eventually specialize in specific tracks. I’ve not 100% decided on the career tracks and what rewards will be unlocked yet, so I will post more as I decide.
Slimefun Bug Fixes
I’ve been looking at why some Slimefun items are not displaying correctly, and have found the cause. I will be patching and testing over the remainder of this month a potential fix, and will update the server if it works :).
Anyway, that’s one hell of a post. After a short hiatus to help family recover and to recover some energy to work on larger projects after 1.21.8 (it was a nightmare), future ones may be longer OR shorter depending on how comfy I feel about sharing what I’ve been working on, and if it’s something I feel ya’ll are interested in. If you have any ideas for these, or want to see something - please as always make use of Community > Suggestions and ping me, so I can be 100% sure it’s brought to staff chats.
