I found a RG that was inactive and able to be claimed. I did a /helpme ticket and Narwhal came to help me. I asked if this RG was claimable and he said, “I guess so” and proceeded to let me claim it. I come to find out that apparently a city is within 200 blocks of the RG and I broke a rule, so the claim is voided. Everything has already been rolled back, but I am still banned. It’s just really frustrating because I’ve been inactive for a little while and I finally get the urge to play again, I start playing, find a really cool claim, and then I get banned for something that isn’t even my fault. Sure, I should have checked better for cities. I was excited about the cool RG I thought I was about to get, so I didn’t check good enough. But do I really need to stay banned? I just don’t understand why things have been rolled back and I’m still banned. My friend KimKourtneyKhloe also got banned because we live together and the stuff I got was in our house. This just feels really unfair to us. ---

Ya and the fact that the staff members who APPROVED the claim aren’t temporarily banned for this “investigation” is kind of crazy. I was banned by association. Literally richie told me “you were banned out of precaution.” But the staff member who actually approved the claim isn’t banned. When they should be temp banned just like us. I won’t name names but one of the staff that approved the claim, literally said “I’m also in trouble.” Yet their punishment in this investigation isn’t a ban. Riddle me that. ---

For clarity, the reason you get banned is (as far as I understand) to make sure nothing gets tampered with while trying to look into it. As the staff member probably won’t tamper with anything, they don’t need a precautionary ban. ---

You’re assuming a staff member won’t mess with it. Just because of a title doesn’t mean rules don’t apply to them either. If players are banned for an investigation that also involves the investigation of a staff member then that staff member deserves the same punishment as the players. Especially considering I was banned out of precaution. Literally wasn’t even involved in the situation. Leather just so happens to be an owner on one of my regions and put some stuff in his own room on my plot. ---

Why would a staff member mess with anything? Anything they could do would be extremely traceable, so they’d have nothing to gain and everything to lose. ---

You received a week ban which will expire on December 9th. Staff’s conclusion is that you knowingly tried to buy regions within city limits by waiting until a staff member to let you buy it, after being told twice before that you could not buy it due to it being too close to a city. Staff members are not perfect and may make mistakes, but this was not with any bad intent. The difference is you kept trying to get a region you wanted by asking different staff members to hope to get a different response from one of them.
